‘Tea-time at Bimblebox with boobook owls’
This ‘nocturne’ is inspired by the dinnertime ritual at the Bimblebox artist’s camp. ‘I played with unexpected perspectives in this painting; the Boobook owls stare back at the viewer, as if they are staring defiantly into the light of a flashlight. The human visitors sit unassumingly in the darkness, in the foreground, yet somehow in the background.
